MASTERS: COMPULSORY EQUIPMENT
The list of compulsory equipment is approximate, the ultimate list will be published when all details of special tasks will be known. Because at the begining of May in Tatra Mts. winter conditions may prevail and the tourist tracks may be covered with ice, certainly the leg crampons and ice axe will be compulsory in Master category.
Compulsory personal equipment:
1. headlamp/torch + spare batteries
2. NRC survival blanket
3. passport/personal ID
Compulsory personal equipment for inline skating leg:
1. skates
2. helmet (MTB or climbing)
3. red rear light
Compulsory personal equipment for ropes activities:
Masters category:
1. descending device (figure 8, stop, Stiht plate, reverso)
2. self belaying device (shunt, prusik)
3. ascending device (poignee, croll, basic, t-block) with additional equipment (minimum 3 carabineers with locking system, loops, lounge)
4. helmet (MTB or climbing)
5. climbing harness
All equipment has to be UIAA/CE attested.
Compulsory personal equipment for biking legs
1. bike
2. helmet (MTB or climbing)
3. red rear light
Compulsory team equipment:
1. 2 compasses
2. mobile phone
3. medical kit: 2 sterile bandages, 2 elastic bandages, plaster, painkillers, scissors, disinfectant
Compulsory team equipment for biking legs:
1. repair kit
2. 2 pumps
3. 4 spare tubes
Compulsory personal equipment for mountaineering leg:
1. backpack
2. Crampons and ice axe. Crampons composed with at least 8 teeth. The tourist crampons won't be allowed. Ice axes - only those that the handle is of 40 cm length or longer. On route Amator crampons and ice axes are not obliged.
3. shoes suitable for use with crampons
4. warm (winter) gloves
5. waterproof and windproof jacket
6. waterproof and windproof pants
7. warm cap
The competitors' wear has to be suitable for high mountain conditions, warm underwear and adequate clothing is highly recommended.
All team and personal compulsory equipment will be checked by organizers before the race.
